ARCADY

Roos Peeters’ series Arcady explores organic, internal interactive spaces. Previously researching sharp imagery, the physicality of her materials and their interaction with the fluidity of blown glass, has greatly informed the Arcady series. Her blown glass investigates internal spaces whilst representing fragility, heterotopias, unpredictability and the interactiveness amongst viewers and the pieces to assimilate each aspect.

PEBBLES

Roos has always been fascinated with hidden spaces, getting lost in the internal structures of broken bricks, burrows, nests, caves and what hides within the crevices of our world. There are so many unexpected features and textures found in those often over looked spaces. The series Arcady (ideal rustic paradise) explores her fascination of these spaces through the interaction of hot blown glass with metal

Shards. Encouraging curiosity and exploration of the viewer to be able to truly explore the unexpected geological structures created within.

ROOTS

Inspired by the process of her 'pebbles', 'Roots' explores the concept of a cast glass blow mould. Exploring how the fluidity of glass would interact with the angular ridged structures of the geological cast structures to create internal landscapes and formations.

CALAMITY

Calamity is the last part to the arcady series. The focus was on ideas of incompatibility and unpredictability, allowing the tension caused from ceramic blow moulds and hot glass to produce intricate structures of fragility amongst the blown structures.
